Design

The Dell Latitude 7390 i5-8350U comes perfectly in style and agility. It is now available in a premium aluminium finish which really impresses with every context. The new design is a machine consisting of a single aluminium block for added elegance and reliability so that you can work on the go with no worries. For a smooth, flawless exterior with excellent surface durability, opt for the magnesium alloy or carbon fibre finish.

In its beautiful design, the case, which is entirely matte black and wedge-shaped tapering up from the front, makes it appear almost simplistic. There are barely any noticeable highlights aside from the Dell logo, a colour-contrast line at the lower end of the back, the On/Off key, and maybe the hinge. The back of the lid is non-slip, slightly rubberised textures. Though clear fingerprints did not stand out that much.

Display

The Latitude's 13.3-inch, 1080p touch-screen is vibrant, but some are brighter. The Latitude incorporates 132% of the sRGB colour gamut, that easily surpasses the 108% premium-laptop average and even the EliteBook (109%), the X1 Carbon (129%) and the XPS 13 (118%).

Yet it isn't as powerful at 286 nits as other rivals. It's smarter than the majority (284 nits) and the EliteBook x360 (239 nits) however the X1 Carbon (293 nits) and the XPS 13 (372 nits) are much more luminous.

Performance

Keyboard and touchpad

With minimal travel of 1.3 mm and 76 grams necessary for actuation, your fingers may need some rest. Even when they have a comfortable, clicky feel, you may too frequently reach the end of the keys for comfort. It would have been great if the 3.9 x 2-inch touchpad was a little larger.

Battery life

One of the strongest qualities of Latitude is their battery life. If you browse locally hosted web pages on repeat at 150 nits of brightness, it would last for 10 hours and 23 minutes. That's quite more than the typical Premium-Laptop 8:23, and ThinkPad X1 Carbon (10:13). And the XPS 13 lasts longer at 11:59.

The Dell Latitude 7390 is a decent laptop with longer battery life and very slim bezels. With Intel 8th Gen Core i5 CPU, it delivers great performance. The key travel on the keyboard is quite large. If you are a writer it might tire your fingers. Overall it's a good deal in budget.
