HP ProBook x360 440 G1 is versatile and great for daily use. HP has designed this inexpensive 14-inch convertible device with professionals and smaller to medium-sized businesses in mind. Its convertible nature and long battery life make x360 440 G1 a powerful laptop. This model is a complete package of performance, versatility, security and multimedia features.

 HP equips the device with Intel Core i5 processor. In addition, there are options for solid-state storage up to 512 GB, and an NVIDIA GeForce MX130 with 2 GB of dedicated VRAM. Each variant comes with the same 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen.

Case

The HP ProBook x360 440 G1's case is mainly made up of the plastic with a silver finish. The keyboard plate is made up of aluminium with a black brushed back finish. As most of the laptop body is made up of plastic, the cost is less than the laptops that are made of aluminium completely. The silver case looks extremely classy in hands.

What's more, despite being a mostly plastic device, the x360 440 G1 is sturdy. When twisted, the device may slightly creak, but you still have to apply a lot of force to make that happen. Similarly, due to the added pressure of using a glass touchscreen window, the window lid is hard to twist perhaps. 

As the name implies, the x360 440 G1 has a 360-degree hinge which enables the device to be used in four modes: laptop, tablet, presentation and tent. The hinges are well-designed and are enough for one-handed opening, but when you open the display, the display does teeter somewhat.

Size and Display

The device has a 14-inch IPS display with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and 157 PPI pixel density. This is the only display HP provides according to its datasheet for the computer. The laptop weighs 2 kg that includes a 1.7 kg device and 271 g power supply.

Connectivity


HP ProBook x360 440 G1 provides a good base level of connectivity and ports. It has two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port. A Kensington lock slot, headphone jack, microSD card slot, HDMI port, and RJ-45 Ethernet are also included. The device also features a 720p webcam and a Windows Hello facial recognition infrared camera. For biometric security, HP has added a fingerprint scanner on the keyboard panel.

Security
The x360 440 G1 has various hardware and software security features. The hardware security features included a Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0), fingerprint scanner and Windows Hello-supported IR camera. The Laptop contains not only the standard software features of Windows 10 but also a robust security management package provided by HP.

Accessories
The device comes with a 45 W power supply and a warranty card. The parts and labour are covered under the manufacturer's warranty period of one year. It also includes a matching HP Active Pen but that cost an additional amount.

Input Devices

The HP ProBook x360 440 G1 is equipped with a Premium keyboard, trackpad and touchscreen. The keyboard provides an ultimate typing experience. The key pressing generates very low noise. Inside the top case, the keyboard is recessed so that the keys are consistent with the rest of the palm which is helpful when using the laptop in presentation mode.
